Thoughts on Impeachment
I am stating here in plain language and with limited decoration a belief that it is the moral duty of this American citizen to call for an impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump’s crimes and misdemeanors. He is a complete mockery of the values he uses to color his speech. The moral compass he manipulates with racism and xenophobia have incited violence.
Impeaching Trump is only one small step in bringing healing to the hurt inflicted on the nation’s psyche. It is not an end to our suffering. But it is the right thing to do to preserve the tattered shreds of American dignity.
The nation could not focus its attention on Mueller’s report for a plurality of reasons, not least among them is the constant string of mass shootings. This is not about politics, this is about news happening in your neighborhoods. It’s about your neighbors disappearing because of their immigration status. It’s about the people telling their representatives that enough is enough.
Nancy Pelosi, make the impeachment inquiry the priority and lay out the truth. Donald Trump is a con artist and a criminal who thinks he’s getting away with it. It is time we put away the circus clown and bring back decorum. Let Donald Trump be removed from office and make politics boring again.
To my fellow Americans, I encourage you to consider my words as carefully selected to communicate my thoughts honestly and without distraction. If you were angered by what I’ve said here, I ask you to be patient and meditate on John McCain’s words below.
